Covid-19 surpasses 3 million cases in the US

Covid-19 cases surpassed the 3 million mark today in the United States of America representing roughly a quarter of the world’s cases and the same percentage of its deaths.

This comes as President Donald Trump urges Governors to open up schools in the fall. The president’s push to reopen schools in the fall is tied to his broader efforts to open the country for normal economic functions as he eyes his own reelection bid in the fall,

The total number of cases world wide stand at 11,922,399 with 546,325 deaths.

In Kenya, Corona virus cases hit 8,528 after 278 more people tested positive in the last 24 hours according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said. This came from a sample of 3,053 tests conducted bringing the total cumulative tests done in Kenya to 196,508.
