Luo Benga sensation Lillian Auma, aka Princess Jully, is dead. Jully died today after a long illness which has made her bedridden for years.
Jully will be remembered for her hit songs that rented the airwaves in mid 90s to early 2000s. Some of her hit songs included, and not limited to: Dunia Mbaya, Aroko Charlie, Agwenge, Amayo, Oula Soldier, among others.
Her maiden album, Dunia Mbaya, was a hit song which was rich in moral lessons because it sensitized the community on the effects of HIV-Aids. The song came in handy because it was in that time that the dreaded virus nipped people’s lives in unprecedented proportion.
Princess Jully would take to stage, of course with her husband, Julius Okumu, aka Prince Jully, and the entire Luo Benga enthusiasts would turn wild in the auditorium.
She’ll be missed by those who loved her songs.
