A teacher in Kiambu succumbs to knife injuries

A teacher by the name Irene Ng’endo was stabbed several times, in Kamirithu village, Kiambu county, before she succumbed to knife injuries.

Limuru sub county police commander Phillip Mwania confirmed the incident, adding that no one has since been implicated to the unfortunate turn of events at Thigio Primary School, in Ndeiya ward.

Speaking from his office in Limuru town, Mwania said the attacker carried away the object he used to stab Ng’endo with, in order to conceal any leads.

He added that nothing was stolen from the house.

“Her phones and handbag were in the house, which was a ‘smart’ move by attacker. There were signs of struggle during the stabbing” he said.

Family members said that Irene Ng’endo was stabbed by an unknown person on Saturday afternoon at her home in Kamirithu village in Limuru constituency in Kiambu county.

One of them, Mr Njenga Murugami, said that Irene had started screaming neighbours came.

“When neighbours arrived, they did not see anyone leaving. They only saw her trying to scroll outside her house” he said.

“They called a taxi and rushed her to Tigoni hospital, where she was pronounced dead due to knife injuries.”

Confirming the incident, Limuru subcounty police commander Phillip Mwania said no one had been arrested in the Saturday incident.

“She was stabbed in the abdomen and the attacker left. No one was at that home” Mwania said.
