Saudi Arabia is enhancing its humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable children across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. New initiatives are set to provide monthly financial assistance, clothing, and essential support to thousands of orphans and families in need.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has partnered with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage to assist orphaned boys and girls, as well as families who have lost their primary earners in Gaza.
As reported by Arab News, beneficiaries will receive $100 each month, along with clothing, school bags, stationery, toys, and opportunities for recreational activities. Additionally, around 4,500 family members and caregivers are expected to benefit indirectly from this support.
In Gaza, KSrelief continues to carry out vital humanitarian operations, including the distribution of tents, drinking water, and hot meals. The agency has successfully delivered 500,000 liters of safe drinking water and provided 25,000 meals in just one day.
In East Africa, KSrelief has initiated a separate program for orphans in Djibouti, offering monthly support of $80, along with clothing and other essential assistance.
This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Refaq Association in Hail, aims to alleviate the financial burden on families caring for orphans. Each orphan will receive $80 per month, as well as clothing and vouchers that can be redeemed through a partnered commercial entity. This program is anticipated to directly benefit 400 individuals, with an additional 1,600 indirectly impacted in the Horn of Africa.
In Europe, KSrelief has also signed an agreement with the Islamic Community of Kosovo to support 700 orphans across 29 governorates. This program aims to provide monthly financial assistance, school bags, winter clothing, and recreational outings, while also helping families cover food, housing, healthcare, and educational expenses.
These three initiatives are part of KSrelief’s broader humanitarian operations. Since 2015, the agency has executed 4,463 projects valued at nearly $8.6 billion across 113 countries, collaborating with 357 local, regional, and international partners. Yemen remains the largest recipient of this aid, receiving approximately $4.8 billion, while Somalia has benefited from around $258 million in assistance.
UK Development and Africa Minister Kirsty McNeill has recently commended Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian and relief efforts, highlighting KSrelief’s significant role in supporting individuals affected by crises and disasters.
