
Police are actively investigating an incident in Nairobi’s Kilimani area where a 26-year-old woman suffered critical injuries after falling from the third floor of an apartment building.
On Saturday night, she was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state following a reported fall through a window at an apartment on Dennis Pritt Road. Preliminary investigations reveal that she was enjoying a night out with friends when the incident occurred under unclear circumstances.
Upon visiting the apartment, police discovered bottles of alcoholic beverages and used glasses, prompting further inquiry. Authorities have detained her boyfriend and two other individuals to assist with the investigation, noting that she remains in critical condition. Detectives believe that several other party attendees were present but left before police arrived. A search for these individuals is actively underway, while the victim continues to receive care in the ICU.
In another case, a 25-year-old woman is currently receiving treatment after surviving a fall from the sixth floor of an apartment building in Thome Estate, Nairobi. She reportedly fell from the sixth floor of Father’s Hub Apartment on Saturday morning.
Responding police officers found her conscious and responsive despite her serious injuries. A preliminary assessment indicated deep lacerations on both lower legs and her right hand, along with severe back pain. Emergency medical personnel provided first aid at the scene before stabilizing her and transporting her by ambulance to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialized treatment. Detectives have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding her fall.
Meanwhile, in Kisumu County, police are investigating the murder of a 30-year-old man who was fatally stabbed outside his home in Nyakach Subcounty. This incident was reported at Ogoro Police Station on Friday, July 3, around 8:50 am, after the victim was attacked the previous night at approximately 11 pm.
Identified as Dashla Ochieng Otieno, the victim had stepped outside to answer a call of nature while his father attended a funeral vigil in the village. His father received a call from his wife informing him that suspected intruders had raided their home. Upon returning, he found a crowd gathered at his mother’s compound, about 50 meters from their house, where his son lay in a pool of blood.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim suffered a stab wound to the right side of his chest from a sharp object. He was rushed to Nyabondo Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Police officers have visited both the scene and the mortuary, where the body is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing to identify the attackers and clarify the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
