Inyangala, Farouk Kibet to Unveil UDA Candidate in Kabras West By-Election

Principal Secretary for Higher Education, Beatrice Inyangala, along with President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, will embark on a tour of Kabras West Ward to officially unveil the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) flag bearer for the upcoming by-elections.

This event is scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2025, and will feature the recently elected Malava Member of Parliament, David Ndakwa, who secured victory in the November 27 by-elections last year. Ndakwa also played a pivotal role in the UDA party primaries held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, where Elphas Shalakha emerged as the winner.

The UDA candidate is prepared to compete against DAP-K’s Nivah Musa in the forthcoming by-election.

Farouk Kibet will return to campaign for the UDA candidate, having previously supported David Ndakwa, whose campaign resulted in a narrow victory over the Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) candidate, Seth Panyako.

The UDA’s success in last year’s by-elections has bolstered the party’s confidence, which is now reflected in this year’s elections, as the party has nominated candidates in all by-election centers, including Muminji, Evurore, Isiolo South, and Kabras West.

In preparation for the upcoming by-elections, the party conducted its primaries on January 10, 2026, awarding tickets to the winners who will compete against candidates from other parties in the elections scheduled for February 26, 2026.

David Ndakwa has outlined the itinerary for the day’s events, indicating that Inyangala and Kibet will commence their tour at 7:30 a.m. with an engagement at the Samo Cultural Centre in West Kabras Ward, accompanied by Members of Parliament and Members of the County Assembly.

Itinerary:

1. 7:30 A.M. Samo Cultural Centre, West Kabras Ward: Engagement with Avasamo alongside Sir Farouk Kibet, Members of Parliament, and Members of the County Assembly (MCAs).

2. 8:30 A.M. Church Service at Mutsuma Primary School: Following the engagement, they will participate in a church service at Mutsuma Primary School, joined by Farouk Kibet, PS Higher Education Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, Members of the National Assembly, MCAs, UDA party flag bearer for West Kabras Ward Elphas Shalakha, and other UDA party officials.

David Ndakwa expressed, “I will attend a church service at Mutsuma Primary School alongside Sir Farouk Kibet, PS Higher Education Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, Members of the National Assembly, MCAs, UDA Party Flagbearer for West Kabras Ward Elphas Shalakha, and UDA Party leadership.”
