Tributes Reveal Jirongo Feared for His Safety Before Death

Tributes at the requiem mass for late Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo centered on his fears for his safety just before death. The service took place at Christ Is The Answer Ministries on Valley Road on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua shared that Jirongo was setting up stronger security measures. Then the fatal road crash hit on December 13, 2025, along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway near Karai in Naivasha.

Karua said Jirongo played key roles in many political times. Moses Kuria spoke of some during the 2022 election buildup. She added they planned to work together ahead. That plan lives on. She declared the struggle continues.

Karua revealed something new. Jirongo worried about his safety. He was lining up better protection. The crash struck first. Questions remain.

She urged support for the family now. Jirongo had a big heart. He gave freely. He judged people by their true selves. He cherished the Mulembe nation and all people. He always sought ways to build on the good.

David Murathe, Jubilee Party Vice Chairperson, pointed to risks from Jirongo’s business moves. He called Jirongo a sharp dealer in big projects.

Murathe described how Jirongo could sketch billion-shilling deals with just pen and paper. Right before death, Jirongo chased work on Libya’s rebuild, a Ruai project, and carbon credits with Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni.

Murathe said Jirongo handled huge deals, real or bold dreams. Hand him pen and paper for multimillion-dollar plans. He shared talks on Libya rebuild, Ruai work, and Museveni credits. Most of all, he loved Kenya. He craved steady rule and bold leaders.

Murathe saw Jirongo as a much-misread force in Kenyan politics. Still, he stayed true to his country. His strong views likely upset powerful folks.

Business friends, led by ex-Nairobi Town Clerk Philip Kisia, backed Jirongo’s riches. They said he built billions fair through business well before politics. Politics cost him money and shook his finances.

Family, friends, and leaders like Muhoho Kenyatta and ex-Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria gave warm praises at the sad event. Kuria praised Jirongo’s giving ways and pull in the Mulembe nation. Mourners saw the body in the casket under heavy mood. Burial comes at his Lumakanda home in Lugari Constituency on December 30, 2025.
