Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is not yet done with Kenya. This time round, the Ugandan president has come out to blame Kenya’s ever changing presidency for his troubles in gaining access to the Indian Ocean.
“I have been negotiating access to the Indian Ocean for 30 years, and every time I finish with one Kenyan president, a new one comes, and we start again from zero.
“Why can’t the agreement be made permanent if they know they will keep changing presidents? I am tired of negotiating.” he said.
Those remarks have been supported by his son—who is also the chief of the general staff—General Mohoozi.
After Museveni had alleged that Indian Ocean is his, and that there was going to be war between Kenya and Uganda regarding the ownership of the Indian Ocean, Mohoozi sensiosanally said that should his father give him any chance, he’d use only eight hours to finish up with occupying Kenya, and taking Indian Ocean.
Ugandan President is not new to contraverseis.
Ugandan despot has been in power since mid 80s, and he’s not showing any signs of relinquishing power anytime soon. A few months ago, he said that there are a lot he hasn’t achieved for Ugandans, and that he’d be willing to accomplish them in the next term — a statement which was interpreted to mean that he is ready for the next presidential elections, which scheduled for January next year.
Museveni has ruled Uganda with iron fist since he got power through a military coup in 1986—something that the octogenarian politician has consistently attributed to his clinging onto power.
He’s been reported saying that since he got the power through military intervention, any leader who’d wish to dethrone him from the presidency, must also be ready to involve military.
Museveni is known for dealing ruthlessly with his critics, and formidable political competitors, like Kizza Besigye, who used to be his personal doctor. Besigye is currently incarcerated, and his health conditions is rumoured to have deteriorated.
Another politician who has met Museveni’s wrath is the youngster Bobi Wine, whose political star is shining, and probably the reason why Museveni has repeatedly sent government officers to beat him up and hold in police cells incommunicado.
