Outrage as Hospital Delays Treating Betty Bayo Over Deposit

Outrage as Hospital Delays Treating Betty Bayo Over Deposit. Kenyans are expressing anger and heartbreak after learning that beloved gospel musician Betty Bayo was reportedly denied immediate medical attention because of a hospital deposit requirement.

According to close friends, the singer was rushed to a private hospital along Kiambu Road late at night after she began bleeding profusely. Despite her critical condition, the facility allegedly refused to admit her until a payment deposit was made. Witnesses say the delay lasted for several hours as Bayo’s condition worsened.

One of her neighbours, noticing her distress, acted quickly and drove her to the nearest hospital. However, upon arrival, the staff insisted on an upfront payment before beginning treatment. At that time, Bayo’s husband was abroad, and her closest friend, gospel artist Shiru Wa GP, was asleep after a long day, unaware of the emergency unfolding.

Throughout the night, those who tried to help struggled to raise the steep deposit demanded by the hospital. As they sought assistance, Bayo continued to bleed and weaken while waiting for medical attention that depended on money she didn’t immediately have.

It wasn’t until early the next morning, when Shiru Wa GP woke up and learned of the situation, that she rushed to the hospital and paid the required deposit. Only then did doctors begin treating the critically ill singer — hours after the emergency had begun. Sadly, the delay proved fatal.
