Wendy Muthoni, daughter to the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and irrigation Sicily Kariuki passes on at the Nairobi Hospital on Sunday 19 morning, according to the family statement.
The deceased who was a second – year student of Law at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology had been admitted to the hospital two weeks before her death.
President Uhuru Kenyatta led Government in condoling the Cabinet Secretary, her family and friends, assuring his support to the family.
A statement from the statehouse reported that the President wished the family God’s fortitude during this trying moment of grief and assured them of his support as they come to terms with the big loss.
On his statement, the deputy President Dr William Ruto too condoled the family.
“Our sympathies and prayers to the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Sicily Kariuki following the death of her precious daughter Wendy Muthoni.” Ruto said.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Amolo Odinga also condoled the family by saying on his tweet that “no pain ever comes close to that of losing a child.”
Wendy’s death comes amidst the Covid19 pandemic, which has so far claimed 234 lives.
