Immediately after the 2107 general elections, the Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto set his eyes on the biggest prize come 2022. The son of Sugoi has been on the run ever since; crisscrossing the country in a bid to win himself support from all corners of Kenya. This is one strategy that has aroused too much political emotions, with his nemesis accusing him of insubordination and disrespect to the President. Having toured Mt Kenya, Western and Coast regions on several occasions, the Deputy President is engaging a different gear; pacifying his political opponents and critics.
The DP in the recent weeks, has been laying strategies on how to penetrate Luo Nyanza. Just a week after his visit to South Nyanza (Kisii), the DP’s inroads into Raila Odinga’s stronghold appear clearly outlined. Ruto is expected to tour Kisumu soon, a move which has seen him identify several figures that’ll play an instrumental role in setting the ground for his agenda. Moreover, our sources indicate that the DP’s handlers have been working on a possible truce between Raila and Ruto.
The DP’s pointmen in the region include; Eliud Owallo who recently ditched ANC Party and Richard Ogendo, former CEC Trade and Industrialization Kisumu County. The Governor of Kisumu Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o and his Migori counterpart are expected to be part of the event. In his visit to Kisumu, the DP is expected to make donations to various youth and women groups, and thereafter tour a few Churches that’ll be having fundraising functions.
