Raila Odinga’s critic Odoyo Owidi gets government job

President William Ruto has appointed former Chair of Lake Basin Development Authority Odoyo Owidi to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency.

The appointment of Daniel Omino who has been the Chairman has been revoked.

Odoyo Owidi who recently quit Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement has been critical of Raila Odinga’s continued hold on the Luo Community. His appointment is a continuation President William Ruto’s purge of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointees.

In the gazette notice seen by Nyanza Daily, the President has appointed nine new chairmen of different state corporations to replace replace Uhuru’s team. In other appointments, Brown Ondego will chair the Board of Directors of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority while Emilio Mugo will chair the Board of the National Environmental Management Authority.

Francis Gichaba has been picked to chair the Kenya Tourism Board, while Prof. Raphael Munuve is chair the Board of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority.

Stanley Khainga will chair the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council, Rispa Wapkhulu the Board of Directors of the Kenya Literature Bureau, and Ali Menza Mbogo will chair the LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority Board. Prof. John Lonyangapuo is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency.
