
President William Ruto has on Saturday March 11, nominated Bishop David Oginde as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
According to a Press Release signed by the Head of Civil Service Felix Kosgey, the president forwarded the name of the bishop for consideration to the National Assembly upon a recommendation by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
“His Excellency Hon William Samoei Ruto has, on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, nominated Bishop David Adang Oginde for appointment as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).”The nomination fills the vacancy caused by the retirement of Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr. Eliud Wabukala,” read the statement from State House Nairobi.
According to Mr. Kosgey, Bishop Oginde is highly respected at home and abroad for his strong reputation in forthrightness, integrity, and his tireless efforts towards the promotion of ethics and virtue in society. “If approved, Oginde’s appointment will give Kenya a demonstrable champion for deepening a value-based culture in the nation.” he added.
Bishop David Oginde who comes from Ugenya Constituency in Siaya count holds a Ph.D. in organisational leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA . He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi. He pursued Biblical Studies at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Trinity International University) Illinois, USA.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) had forwarded Oginde’s name and those of former Makueni Governor Kibutha Kibwana and Architect Amani Yuda Komara.
