Lady Maureen’s death comes few weeks after the death of other Luo Musicians Abenny Jachiga and Omondi Long Lilo. Abenny Jachiga was controversially buried at night under tight security in Kisumu in a move criticised by fellow musicians and his many fans who demanded a decent burial for the ohangla cultural icon.
Lady Maureen’s last song was a gospel song entitled “Abiro Iri” translated as “Am Coming to you” perhaps prophesying her imminent death.
