IEBC receives first batch of the printed ballot papers

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission today received the first batch of the printed ballot papers for the August 9th general elections.

Speaking at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport when he received the consignment, the IEBC chair said all the printed ballot papers will be shipped into the country through the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The Commission submitted 16,098 names of candidates, who were cleared to vie for the six (6) elective positions to the government printer on June 30 for publishing in the Kenya Gazette

According to the commission CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan, the cost of printing the ballot papers is about Sh3.2 billion and announced that they will facilitate a few stakeholders to visit Greece and oversee the printing of the Presidential Ballot, which will be the last to arrive in the country.
