Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga flagged off truckloads of food donations to assist vulnerable residents in Nairobi county.
At the event held at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, Mrs. Odinga said that her humanitarian action was informed by the fact that most people are not able to go to work and fend for their families as a result of the covid 19 pandemic.
“Many people particularly women are not able to go out because most of the factories and places of work have been closed,” said Mrs. Odinga.
She called on those in position to assist to continue supporting the needy with food and other basic items such as sanitary towels and sanitation facilities including sanitizers.
Regarding the health of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, madam Ida assured the nation that he is recovering well after undergoing a successful surgery and will soon be back to Kenya.
