Governor George Natembeya skips Azimio Trans Nzoia rally

Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya, who was elected on the Azimio-affiliated DAP-K ticket failed to attend Azimio’s anti-government protests in Trans Nzoia.

The governor’s deputy Philomena Kapkoy also skipped the rally which was also attended by their DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa.

Saboti legislator Caleb Amisi had to play host during the rally also attended by Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, George Wajackoyah, Eugene Wamalwa, Wycliffe Oparanya, Ledama Olekina, Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino.

Natembeya who was among leaders hosted by President William Ruto at State House Nairobi on Thursday for consultative talks on the economy is among the governors who have pledged to work with President Ruto’s administration for the benefit of the electorate.

“Together with my colleagues, Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Industry and Investment Mr. Moses Kuria and Development Partners, we had a Consultative meeting with H.E President William Samoei Ruto on the promotion of trade, strengthening of market linkages and establishment of aggregation centres and industrial parks in counties,” Natembeya said in a statement after the meeting.
