DP William Rutos allies on the 9th of October 2020 were completely denied access to Diani Beach Hotel in Ukunda , Msambweni , a venue for their Hustler Nation Campaigns.

The campaigns were in support of Abdallah Bader , an Independent candidate ahead of the December 15th Msambweni Constituency by-elections.

Police were said to have mount barricades and blocks to all roads leading to Ukunda Show Grounds where the campaigns were to be held.

Among those in attendance was Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale who in a tweeter message confirmed this saying”Under police attack! Completely blocked from Diani Beach Hotel ,the venue of today’s Hustlers delegates confrence. Barricades, intimidation, delegates teargassed,”

This comes as a take off on the new rule issued by the National Security Advisory Committee ,that banned all unauthorized public processions and meetings , on the 8th of October 2020. The directives were issued by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua in attempt to calm the rising political heat ahead of the 2022 general elections.

The new rule requires political leaders intending to hold public gatherings to seek approval from the Officer Commanding Station of the area three days prior.

The rule was put in place after mayhem and chaos broke in Kenol , Muranga , on the 4th of October ,at a fundraising event ahead of the Deputy President’s arrival . The Kenol chaos caused the lives of two people when distress broke between youths allied to Jubilee Party’s Tangatanga and Kieleweke factions.

The Msambweni Fiasco becomes second of DP Ruto linked public functions to be stopped. The Deputy President’s scheduled fundraising event in Nyamira County at Kebirigo grounds was forcefully cancelled by police who were in a teargas lobbied confrontations with DP’s supporters who had gathered at Kebirigo primary school on the 8th of October 2020.

Also in attendance in Msambweni was Former Senator Johnson Muthama, Hassan Omar and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa.
