Choice Kinoti, the woman who recently went viral over her association with Russian national Yaytseslav Truhov, has opened up about her visit to Salvation Healing Ministries and why she now regrets accepting financial help from Pastor Victor Kanyari.
Choice had attended a Sunday service at the church shortly after trending online over her interaction with the foreign national, whose real name was reported as Vladislav Luikov. During the service, she was invited to the altar where she narrated her side of the story to the congregation.
Moved by her testimony, Kanyari handed her KSh 30,000 in cash and publicly promised to support her further, including helping her start a business so she could rebuild her life after the online backlash. At the time, Choice appeared appreciative of the gesture and the crowd responded warmly.
However, in a later interview with SPM Buzz, the young woman said she now regrets accepting the money. She claimed the church environment left her feeling uneasy and pressured into taking the cash.
According to Choice, she was already nervous and shy while at the altar when the pastor allegedly instructed three bouncers to stand close to her as he continued preaching. She said the moment made her feel intimidated and emotionally overwhelmed.
Choice further explained that the sermon delivered during the service made her begin to question herself, which contributed to her decision to accept the money despite her inner doubts. She now maintains that, in hindsight, she would have preferred to decline the offer.
Her remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans expressing sympathy for her situation while others defended the pastor’s intentions, saying the gesture appeared to be an act of goodwill.
