At least 15 people have been injured in a stampede breakout at Likoni Channel in Mombasa, following the evening rush. The Likoni Crossing Channel was congested because only three vessels were operating, making the users to wait for hours.
Some Ferry services users told Nyanza Daily that they had been waiting for more than three hours to board a vessel. According to Ali Hassan Kal, user of the Ferry services, he takes at most 40 minutes before boarding a vessel, but today he had to wait for more than two hours.
Since the breakout of Covid19 pandemic the Government has enforced curfew restrictions, and this has caused traffic during peak hours.
