Kayole Woman Dies After Fifth-Floor Fall as Boyfriend Arrested

Detectives in Nairobi’s Kayole area actively investigate the tragic death of a 19-year-old woman who fell from the fifth floor of a residential apartment building following a reported argument with her boyfriend.

A police team promptly responded to the scene after a resident reported hearing a loud bang around 5:40 PM on July 11. Initially, the witness suspected an electrical fault, but upon further investigation, discovered the young woman lying on the ground floor in a pool of blood.

The victim, identified as Beraka Wambui, suffered multiple injuries consistent with a fall and was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that Wambui had an argument with her 22-year-old boyfriend shortly before the incident.

Crime Scene Investigation officers from Kayole meticulously processed and documented the scene. Police also collected household items with blood stains from the apartment, retaining them as crucial evidence for forensic analysis.

Authorities arrested the boyfriend, who remains in police custody as detectives explore the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. The body has been removed from the scene and is pending a post-mortem examination while investigations continue.

Incidents involving falls from higher floors have shown a concerning rise. Police are also investigating two similar incidents that occurred last week in the Kasarani and Kilimani areas of Nairobi, with victims currently receiving medical care.

In a separate case, police in Homa Bay County have initiated investigations into the murder of a 50-year-old man whose body was discovered abandoned in a thicket near Ombek Trading Centre in Rachuonyo South Sub-County.

This incident was reported on Saturday afternoon after the body was found. The victim, identified as Samuel Ochieng Adiengo, hailed from Ombek Village in Kadel Kamidigo Sub-location, Kodera South Location. Authorities reported that the body was located about 30 meters from a local resident’s house and displayed visible bruises on his back.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Samuel was allegedly killed inside a suspect’s house before being dragged into the nearby thicket, seemingly to conceal the crime. The motive behind this tragic act remains unclear.

Crime scene investigators thoroughly processed the area before transferring the body to Rachuonyo Level 5 Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The prime suspect is currently on the run, and DCI detectives have launched an intensive manhunt to locate and apprehend him as investigations progress.
