Kalonzo parades his Cows to Ruto after he called him “Mtu wa kupanda ndengu”

Wiper leader Steven Kalonzo Musyoka was on Friday morning forced to showcase his cows just to disapprove president William Samoei Ruto wrong.

Musyoka shared a video at his livestock farm surrounded by many cows in what seemed to be a rebuttal to President William Ruto who referred to him as mtu wa kupanda ndengu (someone who farms green grams) with no animals to be vaccinated.

The president was speaking in Garissa County on Friday when he urged the residents to desist from listening to people like Kalonzo Musyoka who have no animals to be vaccinated. The president wondered why the wiper leader was instructing pastoralists around the country to avoid the animal vaccination program yet he was just farming ndengu.

“I want to tell them that we want to grow our agricultural sector. Our agricultural sector includes the livestock sector and that is why we must invest public resources in promoting livestock development to get good quality breeds, ensuring that we get rid of diseases, and we undertake disease control and make sure that we have markets for our products, whether dairy or livestock products, meat, milk and all the other products. That is what the government is going to do” Said Ruto while on his Garissa tour.

“Sasa wewe mtu ya Garissa nataka nikuulize, wewe unaenda kumskiza mtu ya kupanda ndengu ati anakuambia usichanje ngombe yako. yeye hana ngombe, wewe utafuata iyo maneno ya mtu kama huyo? Na wewe umekuwa ukichanja ngombe yako hi miaka yote na mtu akuje hapa na kiswahili na kingereza anakuambia ati usichanje ngombe yako ati kuna mtu mwengine anaitwa Bill Gates. Bill gates ako hapa Garissa?” Loosely translated as: “I want to ask you resident from Garissa, why would you listen to someone who plants green grams telling you that you should not vaccinate your cows? You have been vaccinating your animals all these years then someone (Kalonzo) comes with English and Swahili to confuse you by mentioning Bill Gates. Is Bill Gates here in Garissa?”

The livestock vaccination program has been a topic of discussion in Kenya with leaders expressing mixed reactions on the initiative. There are those who believe that the program should go on while there are those completely opposing it, alleging bad intentions from that vaccination.
