At precisely 4 PM on Wednesday, Bernard Kavuli arrived at Ngong Police Station accompanied by his two lawyers.
This marked his second visit to the station following his return from Moi’s Bridge, where he was reportedly abandoned by his abductors on Monday.
Kavuli spent over an hour at the station, providing a detailed account of his harrowing experience during the abduction. His lawyer, Shadrack Wambui, spoke about the traumatic events Kavuli endured, stating, “Our client was subjected to a situation intended to intimidate him and silence his voice regarding the injustices he perceives in our country. They inflicted violence upon him and treated him in a deeply inhumane manner. We will be compiling these details in an affidavit to be presented in court.”
During his visit, Kavuli was cautioned against discussing his experiences with the media. He also made an appearance at Milimani Law Courts, where a petition by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) was being heard, calling for Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to present the abducted individuals in court.
In light of his ordeal, Kavuli is expected to undergo a medical examination. Meanwhile, other individuals who were also released by their abductors—Gideon Kibet, Ronny Kiplagat, Peter Muteti, and Billy Mwangi—are set to record their statements with the police starting Thursday.
