28 year Lilian Nyambura Mbugua disappears mysteriously in Murang’a

The family of Lilian Nyambura Mbugua is in turmoil following her mysterious disappearance from their home in Gikono, Kabati, Murang’a County, just two days before Christmas.

The 28-year-old brand manager at East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) in Nairobi had visited her mother’s home on December 21 for the holiday festivities.

Everything seemed normal as the family attended church together on Sunday, December 22, and enjoyed a festive breakfast and lunch the following day. However, Lilian vanished shortly after, leaving her family desperate for answers.

According to the police, the investigation has proven challenging due to a lack of leads. Lilian left home without any mobile devices, making it difficult to trace her whereabouts. Constable Patrick Maina of the Gikono police post stated, “It is a hard inquiry. If we had a phone to track or a known vehicle, it would be easier to narrow down our investigation.”

The family described Lilian as generally quiet and reserved, noting she appeared slightly tired before her disappearance. Her uncle, Njuguna, mentioned that while she seemed a bit stressed, there was nothing alarming during their interactions over the weekend.

The family is urging anyone with information about Lilian’s whereabouts to come forward, hoping for her swift and safe return. Meanwhile, authorities are awaiting further details from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to aid in the probe. The community remains on high alert as they join the family in searching for answers.
