Tuju Declares Support for Linda Mwananchi Movement

Former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has publicly declared his support for the Linda Mwananchi movement, signaling a new political direction as the country gradually shifts focus toward the 2027 General Election.

In a statement posted on his X account, Tuju said he had been receiving numerous questions from Kenyans across the country regarding his current political position and future plans.

The former Cabinet Minister stated that he had decided to fully align himself with the Linda Mwananchi team, describing the movement as a platform committed to protecting the interests and welfare of ordinary Kenyans.

“I am proud to stand with the Linda Mwananchi team. This is not just a political movement; it is a commitment to safeguarding the interests, dignity, and well-being of every Kenyan citizen,” Tuju said in the statement.

He emphasized the need to protect wananchi from economic hardship, insecurity, and exclusion, adding that the movement seeks to create a Kenya where all citizens have equal opportunities to prosper.

Tuju further noted that he was ready to dedicate his experience, energy, and loyalty toward advancing the movement’s agenda across the country.

“I have therefore fully aligned myself with the Linda Mwananchi team and its vision. Together, we shall defend the rights and aspirations of the mwananchi in every corner of our republic,” he stated.

The announcement is expected to spark political debate over the growing influence and possible ambitions of the Linda Mwananchi movement ahead of the next election cycle.

Tuju, who previously served in senior government positions and played a key role within the Jubilee administration, has remained relatively quiet politically in recent years following the 2022 General Election.

His latest declaration now places him among leaders seeking to re-enter national political conversations under emerging political formations and alliances.

He concluded his message by calling on Kenyans to unite behind leadership that prioritizes the interests of ordinary citizens, ending with the words: “God bless Kenya.”
