Juja MP George Koimburi found abandoned at a Kiambu Plantation

Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi has been found abandoned at a coffee plantation in Kiambu County, raising concerns over his safety and well-being. The legislator’s family has since confirmed that he is receiving medical treatment at Plainsview Hospital near Ruiru town.

According to reports, Koimburi was abducted outside a church in Mugutha, Kiambu County, on Sunday. Witnesses say he was captured by unidentified individuals, with video footage showing the MP being driven away in a silver Subaru Forester with civilian registration plates. During the incident, Koimburi’s wife, Ann Koimburi, was injured amid a scuffle that ensued outside the church.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) issued a statement denying any involvement in the abduction. However, they confirmed that Koimburi has been under investigation since last Friday over allegations related to land fraud and misappropriation of Constituency Development Funds (CDF). The DCI clarified that they are actively seeking the MP in connection with these investigations but do not have any links to his disappearance.

Mrs. Koimburi expressed her frustration over the ongoing situation, revealing that authorities have previously confiscated her husband’s phone and vehicle during investigations but have yet to provide clarity on his whereabouts. She called for swift action from security agencies to ensure her husband’s safety and to uncover the circumstances behind his disappearance.

The incident has sparked widespread concern among residents and political colleagues, who are calling for a thorough investigation. The case continues to unfold as authorities work to establish the facts surrounding the abduction and current condition of Mr. George Koimburi.
