On December 6, 2024, the Global Peace Foundation Kenya, in collaboration with the Chandaria Foundation, proudly launched the Chandaria Awards during the President’s Fellowship 2024 Conference at Daystar University, Valley Road campus. This new initiative is designed to annually honor the most outstanding male and female fellows, recognizing their exceptional contributions and leadership.
The conference celebrated the achievements of over 100 young leaders from all 47 counties who graduated from the President’s Fellowship program. This initiative focuses on empowering youth to drive significant change in areas such as peacebuilding, leadership, entrepreneurship, climate action, and sustainable development within their communities.

In its inaugural year, the Chandaria Awards recognized eight exceptional fellows from the program’s first four cohorts. These individuals were each awarded with trophies, certificates, and a cash prize of Kshs 25,000 to support the expansion of their innovative projects and social enterprises. This recognition not only acknowledges their current achievements but also encourages them to continue their impactful work.
The Chandaria Awards, set to officially begin in 2025, will be an annual event, aiming to offer even larger prizes to celebrate the dedication and commitment of these young leaders to community service and exemplary leadership. To be eligible for this prestigious award, candidates must first complete the President’s Fellowship program, which serves as a platform for nurturing and developing future leaders.

Dr. Manu Chandaria, a prominent philanthropist, and the Chandaria Foundation play a crucial role in supporting this initiative, highlighting their commitment to fostering innovation and leadership among the youth.
Congratulations to all the winners, and we look forward to a more expansive Chandaria Awards in 2025, with greater opportunities to support the next generation of changemakers!
