Gachagua Set for Noon National Address Today

Democracy for the Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua has announced that he will address the nation today at noon from his party’s headquarters. The former Deputy President shared the announcement on his official social media platforms, inviting Kenyans to tune in for what he described as a message on the state of the country.

In his brief statement, Gachagua said he would speak directly to the public at 12:00 noon, signalling that the address will focus on national issues and current political developments. His announcement has sparked widespread public interest, especially following recent political tensions.

The planned address comes just a day after a heated exchange between Gachagua and Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika. The two leaders traded strong words over political and personal matters, with Kihika accusing Gachagua of persistently targeting her and her family in public forums.

In a statement shared on Monday, Governor Kihika said that much of Gachagua’s recent public speeches had focused on attacking her and her spouse rather than presenting clear policies or solutions for the country. She described his remarks as personal, unnecessary, and politically driven.

“You came to Kinamba, Naivasha, yesterday, and 90 per cent of your speech was insulting my spouse and me. You didn’t even give a single agenda on what you would do for the country should you ever be elected,” Kihika wrote.

Observers believe Gachagua’s national address may touch on the recent political exchanges, his party’s position on governance, and his vision for the country. The timing of the speech has raised expectations that he could clarify his stance on the accusations and outline his political direction moving forward.

Kenyans across the political divide are expected to follow the address closely, as it could shape the next phase of national political debate. Whether the speech will focus on reconciliation, policy direction, or political mobilisation remains to be seen.

Gachagua’s message is anticipated to draw attention both from supporters and critics, with many hoping for a shift toward issue-based leadership and national unity at a time when political temperatures remain high.
