Deputy President Rigathi Gacjagua has said that President William Ruto (then Deputy President) fuelled GK cars, he bought tea for his office, he paid electricity bills and paid allowances to staff accompanying him across the country for four years. He added that this was as a result of the feud then Deputy President had with President Kenyatta.
Speaking during an interview with the press from his Karen residence, the Deputy President blamed former Treasury CS Ukur Yattani who in conjunction with Kinuthia Mbugua under the direction of Uhuru Kenyatta cut all funds to the office of the DP.
Gachagua added that when the Deputy President became President-elect those who denied him the budget were embarrassed and sought to undo the damage of what they had done.
“Gachagua does not demand for any money. The office of the DP is a public office. Gachagua has a spouse and not a wife. Much as we respect the freedom of the press, when you degenerate into gutter press, we will call you out” said the Deputy President
