Masten Wanjala the serial killer who confessed more than 12 minors has been lynched by villagers at his Muhweya home in Bungoma.
Police said they had so far linked him to up to 14 murder incidents spanning from Nairobi, Machakos and Western Kenya.
The serial killer had escaped from the Jogoo Road police station in Nairobi and was expected to court this Wednesday. As a result of his escape, three police officers including the Jogoo Road police station deputy Officer Commanding Station and two others who were on duty were arrested and charged with negligence and aiding his escape.
Wanjala was identified when he joined a football team to play football with boys in the village. Some of the people who identified him as a wanted man later trailed him to his home where they lynched him. Area Assistant County Commissioner Cornelius Nyaribai confirmed the suspect was flushed from their house and lynched by a mob.
