Sakaja says NO to Kisumu demonstrators in Nairobi

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has condemned the decision by Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o to export suspend mass action in Kisumu to enable the Kisumu demonstrators to join protests in Nairobi.

Sakaja said Nairobi has already borne the brunt of the demonstrations and termed the Kisumu governor’s move “preposterous and totally unacceptable.” The Kisumu Governor had said he had suspended demos in Kisumu following consultations with the Azimio La Umoja leadership.

“In the spirit of devolution, I would advice the Governor Nyong’o, to keep his demonstrations to his County. It has been decided that further protests and demonstrations shall similarly no longer take place in any part of the city,” said Sakaja.

“The Governor of Kisumu’s idea that he can export his demonstrations to Nairobi and make our County the capital of demonstrations and associated mayhem is preposterous and totally unacceptable,” stated the Nairobi governor.
