President Uhuru Kenyatta led the nation in mourning Senior Counsel Nzamba Kitonga. Nzamba passed away on Saturday night ,October 24th, at the age of 64
Philip Nzamba Kitonga was a lawyer and Politician who is best known for being on the Review that drafted the 2010 Consitution.
In the morning of 25th October 2020, the President’s message of comfort to the family, friends, relatives and legal fraternity, described the Senior Counsel Kitonga Nzamba as a constitutional law stalwart and patriotic Kenyan with unmatched legal powers.
The death of Nzamba is a major blow to Kenya especially now that the country is gearing up fundamental constitutional reforms through the ongoing (BBI) Building Bridges Initiative.
Leaders and Citizens have eulogized the late Nzamba with words of comfort and sadness;
Former President Mwai Kibaki in his tribute said “Nzamba made his memorable contribution to an eventful trigger moment that will forever define the direction of Kenya’s statehood as well as a statecraft , ..will take in days to come”
President Kibaki was who unveiled the 2010 Promulgated Constitution labored by Kitonga.

Nzamba Kitonga , the former LSK chair and President of East Africa Law Society (EALS) , father of the 2010 constitution who played a major role in drafting the 2010 Constitution, died of cardiac arrest.
President Uhuru prayed to God to comfort and give fortitude to the family, relatives and friends of the late Nzamba Kitonga as they come to terms with his sudden death.
