Former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Treasurer Ogla Karani has said that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has never wanted to be President of Kenya.
Karani speaking on NTV’s Front & Centre programme moderated by Ben Kitili said that the ODM party leader had everything in place in 2022 to take over the presidency from Uhuru Kenyatta but he failed to rise up to the occasion.
Karani said that Raila Odinga ignored any advise and warnings of red flags he was given by his top advisors that led to Azimio Coalition losing an election that it should have won.
Karani has been one of the staunchest supporters of Raila Odinga from the Rift Valley for many years even when the Kalenjin voting blocks shifted from ODM to William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
In the year 2016, Olga Karani was nominated by Raila Odinga to sit on the IEBC select committee which picked the IEBC Commissioners that was appointed to replace the ones who resigned after the 2013 elections. After the handshake between Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018, Olga was appointed the Chairperson of the Kenya Cultural Center by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
She however fell out with the Azimio La Umoja leader after the 2022 elections which was won by President William of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
