Murkomen pissed by poll ranking Ruto behind Wajackoyah

Kipchumba Murkomen

Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Monday took a swipe at the Kenya Television Network (KTN) over a Nakuru poll where deputy president William Ruto ranked last.

KTN had on Monday evening conducted an impromptu live poll/a mock election in Nakuru where Ruto garnered 9 votes, Wajackoyah ten votes with Raila emerging the overall winner with 50 votes.

While the poll excited most azimio supporters, the Kenya Kwanza supporters led by the Elgeyo Marakwet senator expressed his anger as he described KTN as an embarrassment for running such a poll in Nakuru and ranking Ruto last.

“KTN is an embarrassment. The fact that the owner is in Azimio doesn’t give you the Licence to carry out stage managed polls. In fact the presenter’s body language clearly betrays him. Just before that poll the presenter was interviewing people and when one said “UDA” he became so agitated. Look at the celebrations after. Stop the gimmicks and stick to your role as a media house away from the owner’s political stand.” Complained Kipchuma Murkomen.

However, Murkomen’s sentiments did not go well with his Facebook followers who urged him to accept defeat instead of bashing the media for doing its job. These netizens even gave past examples of such similar polls by KTN conducted in Githurai where Ruto ranked ahead of Raila.

“A while back the same KTN conducted a dubious poll in Githurai & WSR won the poll. Nobody complained about the outcome. When your side doesn’t lead you disagree with the polls !!!!maajabu.“ Recalled one James Njoroge.
