Kisumu has become the second County Assembly to pass the Building Bridges Initiative (Constitutional Amendment) Bill. Following a public participation conducted at the Assembly premises on Friday last week, the Chairperson of the Administrative of Law and Justice committee Mr. Seth Okumu, tabled a report on the bill on Tuesday 9th February 2020.
Subsequently the recommended that the house approve the Bill. “The speaker pursuant to Article 257(6) of the Constitution of Kenya cause delivery of the certification of the approval of this honorable house on the matter of the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill 2020 to the speaker of the National Assembly and the Senate,” said Mr. Okumu
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati sent the BBI draft Bill to all the counties for approval or rejection.
