Police Spokesperson Charles Owino has declared his interest in running for Siaya county Gubernatorial race in 2022. Owino announced this during a radio interview adding that he had attained retirement age and will consult with his bosses in December to go ahead with his plans.
“I am 50 years old and I am allowed to retire from police service. I will ask the police service commission and my boss in December to allow me to go and vie for the Siaya governor’s seat” said Owino.
The police spokesman promised to transform Siaya within 10 years saying that he had the brains to do so. Owino added that he will contest the race on an ODM ticket which he said is the most popular party in Nyanza region.
