Its now clear that celebrated Soweto Academy (Nairobi) principal will contest for Nangina ward Member of County Assembly. Mr. Johnstone Makabwa whose tenure at the helm of Soweto Academy saw tremendous excellence bin sports and academics will be seeking to replace John Obwogo who is finishing second term.
According to Makabwa it’s the cry from the people motivating him to contest, he said it would be very unfair to fail to listen to his people. Obwogo’s administration has been merred with corruption and moral decay which mwalimu seek to streamline.
Mwalimu Makabwa feels that from his experience in public and private sectors, he is fit and with the required expertise to move Nangina to greater heights. His main agenda revolve around Heath, education Infrustructural development youth and women empowerment and access to clean water. In line with the government policy on universal health coverage mwalimu raised concerns over the rising infant mortality rate.
Others who have declared interest in the Nangina MCA seat include Standard Newspapers Siaya correspondent Lameck Baraza, CPA Douglas Mabangu among others. It remains to be seen if any of them will succeed in toppling the red eyed Obwogo.
