A group of professionals dubbed Azimio Volunteers have vowed to make former prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua clinch the top seat in the upcoming general election.
In a breakfast convention held on Thursday at the Nairobi club, the group revealed that they have rolled out several activities across the country that will enable Raila Odinga to win with a convincing margin. Some of the activities include recruiting more volunteers, weekly cleanups, skating and tree planting to sell the Azimio agenda.
Formed specifically to consolidate support for Baba in all the 47 counties, Azimio Volunteers has many faces ranging from “Warembo na Baba,” “Daughters of Raila,” “Omoka Ngiri Sita,” “Rada ni Baba,” “Sibanduki na Raila,” amongst others.
The breakfast meeting was attended by Defence Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Laikipia Deputy Governor John Mwaniki, Former Chairman of the Nairobi Central Business District Association Mr. Timothy Muriuki, Former Ugenya MP aspirant Daniel Juma, University Don Dr. Stanley Kamau, businessman Jimmy Kairu and others.
In his speech CS Wamalwa confessed that having served under the ministry of devolution, the leadership of the country needed someone like Raila who was the brainchild behind the new constitution. Consequently, he promised to rally behind the ODM leader in his fifth attempt at the presidency.
The CS further punned that in all his political life, he had never made a wrong choice with regards to where the government is headed to. As a result, he urged Azimio supporters to be confident and prepare for the victory on 9th August. The Azimio Volunteers are led by In terms of its leadership, the event was headed by Mr. Castro Fidel, Mr. Cliff Mboya and other Azimio secretariats.
