A 62-year-old woman had been killed by a shopkeeper in Kakamega County over Ksh 20. The shopkeeper, it is said, hit the woman with a stone.
The altercation ensued when the woman, Sarah Molonje, had gone to shop at the village shop, but they started arguing with the man who was selling at the shop.
Eye witnesses said that the shopkeeper got enraged after a brief scuffle with the woman, something that made him to pick up a stone which he flung on to Sarah Molonje’s chest. The deceased – 62-year-old woman – did not take long before she succumbed to multiple injuries and internal bleedings.
The matter was reported at Kabras Police station, and investigations have already started to ascertain what might have informed the shopkeeper to murder his frequent customer.
The suspect is said to be at large even as Investigations are under way.
The body was transferred to Kakamega Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
